Mayor Simpson et all, I like many of the citizens of Meridian moved here to get away from the influence and atmosphere that accompanies enterprises like the oasis night club. The harm such an establishment will do to this community, and many individuals directly, far outweighs the dollars it will generate for the city coffers. In fact, I would wager, long term, the actual dollars spent on, Law enforcement(Traffic issues, complaints by the neighboring community, social services for those associated with such establishment (patrons as well as employees) etc. would end up costing the city money in the end. This is the kind of community that does not appreciate that type of establishment regardless of those who have recently moved here and seek that type of entertainment. Let them seek it elsewhere Or better yet, let them participate in the wholesome family and community activities that drew them to this community in the first place and leave old habits behind. I will fight to protect my community and preserve the way of life I and the vast majority of Meridians came here to be a pat of. If you are considering running for a second term, allowing Oasis to operate here would force myself and the majority of Meridians to campaign against you. I ask you to take a stand for the preservation of one of the last safe places in the country to raise a family and enjoy life free from unseemly influences of such an enterprise. Most sincerely, Chuck Martin 208-884-1331 Sent from my iPhone
