ANNA:
Consistent with the previously approved Master Plan for Southern Springs and as
required by ordinance, the applicant, Boise Food Service, respectfully requests
Conditional Use approval to construct a drive-thru restaurant.
Located on lot 11 of Block 1, Southern Springs Subdivision #2, the facility consists of
a 1526 sf drive-thru building with provisions for 17 covered drive -up canopy spaces.
The building is located such that the speaker systems face Meridian Road, limiting
the minimal noise created by the system. The site has some 35,000 sf in a
configuration restricted by numerous easements and with the frontage entry corridor
landscaping existing.
We believe this application is consistent with the comprehensive plan, meets the
requirements of the ordinance and pre -application comments and is in concert with
the previously approved master plan.
We trust the staff will concur and a recommendation for approval will ensue. Should

Pursuant to our conversations the applicant, Boise Food Service, Inc.,
respectfully requests Design Review approval to construct a Sonic Drive -In.
This project, located on Lot 11 of Block 1, Southern Springs Sub 2, consists of
1526 sf drive-thru buildings with provisions for 17 covered drive -up canopy
spaces.
Architectural Character — Contemporary
Color/Material — Light grey concrete field panels accented with colorful yellow
metal roofing, green and red structural metal canopies and high energy poster
displays.
Parking Lots — Poured concrete paving with raised concrete curbing and
complementing landscaping.
Pedestrian Walks — Poured brushed and scored concrete.
We believe this application is consistent with the conditions of prior approvals...

Sonic is proposing a new facility located on lot 11, Block. 1, Southern Springs Sub.
#2 and, as required by the City of Meridian, will host an informational meeting
regarding the proposed Conditional Use for this project on Thursday, December 13,
2007, between 6:00-7:00 pm.
This meeting will be held at the adjacent Moxie Java located at 1760 Meridian Road.

COMMITMENT OF PROPERTY POSTING
Per Unified Development Code (UDC) 11-5A-5D, the applicant for all applications requiring a
public hearing (except for a UDC text amendment, a Comprehensive Plan text amendment
and/or vacations) shall post the subject property not less than ten (10) days prior to the hearing.
The applicant shall post a copy of the public hearing notice of the application(s) on the property
under consideration.
The applicant shall submit proof of property posting in the form of a notarized statement and a
photograph of the posting to the City no later than seven (7) days prior to the public hearing
attesting to where and when the sign(s) were posted. Unless such Certificate is received by the
required date, the hearing will be continued.
The sign(s) shall be removed no later than three (3) days after the end of the public hearing for
which the sign(s) had been posted.
