The purpose of this letter is to request a time extension for Mr. Lee Centers on the
Locust Grove Apartment project and associated light office subdivision (HoneyLocust
Subdivision).
On April 17, 2001, the Meridian City Council approved a preliminary plat and
conditional use permit to develop an apartment complex and office buildings on the
southwest corner of the Locust Grove Road and Franklin Road intersection. The application
file numbers for these approvals were PP 01-002; CUP 01-003; and AZ 01-002. As a
reminder, these requests went through with little opposition from the surrounding property
owners. Mr. Centers was able to work with his neighbors to develop an excellent urban infill
housing project.
The construction drawings and final plat are complete, but the owner is looking for
financing to construct the project. Given the low interest rate on homes and the cautious
economic climate since September, the rental market is not as strong as it was last year.
We hope that you will grant our request to extend the time limit on the preliminary
plat for one more year. Thank you in advance for your consideration regarding this matter.
