As outlined within the application and accompanying development plans Maverik is requesting a CUP to allow construction and operation of a 3,800 square foot convenience store with accompanying gas dispensing islands. The intent of our proposal is to service the southern portion of Meridian located south of Interstate 84. As you're aware there are no retail services available to south Meridian residents east of Meridian/Kuna Road. Additionally it is our understanding that the proposed store is consistent with both the Meridian master plan and the city's stated goal of providing neighborhood services within neighborhoods, avoiding the need for residents to commute to the city center for all services. We believe this location is well suited to provide these services and will provide a natural transition from the residential zoning on the south to the industrial zoning between Overland and Interstate 84. Maverik is also aware that the annexation and CUP may result in additional sewer, water or trash collection fees and request that you keep us informed of any increases above Meridian's standard fees or charges.
