Dear P & Z Commission members:
I live on Leslie Way in the Carol subdivision immediately west of the project. I listened to the previous hearing and read
the traffic study recently submitted to the commission by Mike and Malissa Bernard which outlines several
deficiencies in feeder streets, the roundabout, and access points surrounding the project.
Aside from the applicants enthusiasm and passion, given the traffic, parking, noise, and safety issues, it appears he is
shoehorning this project into a space that isn't a good fit. It won't be long before overflow parking will spill into
surrounding neighborhoods and management has no incentive to mitigate this. Upgrading roads will require resources
that aren't a priority for the city. The Meridian Police chief stated that monitoring the number of patrons in the facility
will be the responsibility of local residents since the police don't have the manpower nor the mandate to stay on top of
this.
In view of these issues I urge the commission to deny this application and encourage the applicant to consider a
different piece of real estate.
