Hello Mayor Simison and Coucilmembers,
We are relatively new residents of the Meridian community. We fell in love with Idaho the moment we landed here for
the first time in 2019. Prior to becoming residents of Idaho our family has lived in the two largest markets in America,
New York and Los Angeles. The biggest mistakes both cities and their suburbs did was to allow explosive growth without
properly planning the infrastructure around that growth. Part of the charm of Ada county is the ability to use our roads
without dealing with the frustrations of traffic that is out of control.
Currently Locust Grove has two lanes, one in each direction, south of Overland. Victory also has two lanes, one in each
direction at the intersection of Locust Grove. I do not believe these roads are capable of handling anymore traffic. While
I support additional housing, I also believe the expansion of lanes at Locust Grove and Victory needs to occur prior to
adding anymore housing.
Prior to making this decision, I ask that you take a serious look at the current traffic conditions, the expansion of housing
and business development that has already been approved and the ramifications of the additional traffic conditions with
this latest proposal and give serious thought how this will impact the quality of life in Southern Meridian.
I appreciate your thought and consideration.
