The Designing Team Salon Inc., opened in March of 1998 at 726 East
First Street. The owners are Patty Gillaspy, Lorinda Jenkins, and Marci
Rood. They have over 60 years in the beauty industry between them.
The offices held in the corporation are as follows: Marci Rood - President
Lorinda Jenkins - Secretary Patty Gillaspy - Treasurer.
The Designing Team are active members of the Meridian Chamber of
Commerce and The Meridian Merchants Association. They also donate to
various groups, including the Meridian Library, Meridian Firefighters, and
several schools, along with city functions and events. They pride themselves
in running a professional salon, while continuing their education by attending
classes, conferences, business seminars, etc.
The business caters to all ages and includes hair and nail services for the
entire family. There is also an extensive line of hair care products carried for
the client's convenience. There are currently nine hair and nail stations in the
salon.
The property and building at 1226 East 2 ½ Street is a desirable location
for our business, as there will be minimal re-modeling and a great amount of
space for parking in the rear. We believe that our salon will increase the
property value surrounding it. It will also be a professional beginning for the
plan that Meridian has, to create historical old town flavor in the area.
In purchasing this property, we agree to pay any additional sewer, water,
or trash fees or charges, if any, associated with its use.
The Designing Team has established and proven themselves as a
beneficial and competent business. Their goal now is to build equity in an
establishment that they possess versus leasing property.
