Re: Jabil Facility
1303 E. Central Drive, Meridian, Idaho
Dear Ms. Canning:
RECEIVFlr-%
APR 2 0 2006
city Of Meridian
ty Clerk Of,,
The following inquiry is made in confidence. The School District is entertaining the purchase of the Jabil
facility. To that end, we are reviewing code related issues that may arise and provide insight into the
feasibility of the purchase.
Our specific inquiry relates to the zoning code change that we would request should we purchase. The
following activities may occur within or on the site should we purchase.
School District Related Activities:
Administrative offices
Training center (leasing of training center to outside users)
K -12 Specialized Educational Programs (school program such as culinary arts)
Start up educational programs (magnet school programs)
Maintenance shops (maintenance, operations and grounds dept.)
Warehousing operations
School bus parking
Non -School District Related Activities:
Commercial retail
Commercial leasing of non -educational office space -
Commercial leasing of training center
We are requesting your opinion regarding the zoning that would best meet our needs and be consistent with
the cities ordnance structure. We believe a CG designation appears to be appropriate. It should be noted
that the various uses would come on over an extended period of time and not at the outset as traditionally
occurs in this type of zoning. Would there be a requirement to make a Comprehensive Plan Amendment? If
so, what are the timing issues? Your help and guidance is greatly appreciated.
Should you have any questions please give me a call.
Sincerely,
Wendel Bigham
