Meridian, ID 83646 September 20, 2007 RECEIVED City of Meridian SEP 2 0 2007 Planning and Zoning Commission 33 East Idaho Ave. City of Meridian Meridian, ID 83642 City Clerk Office Re: Opposition to CUP 07-016 — The Conditional Use Permit Approval for the Selway Multi -Family Development Dear Commision & Council Members Please accept this letter as our statement in disagreement with the proposed CUP 07-016 — The Conditional Use Permit Approval for the Selway Multi -Family Development. We believe the City Council has erred by giving away our rights in advance of a true consensus of citizens that live in and around the proposed project. We moved our family to Meridian, in particular the Bridgetower development, from another state approximately 1 year ago. We researched the City and the area and found that it appeared to be just the right environment of family and community values. Had we known at the time that the City was more interested in attracting Federal Funds and appeasing the local developers we never would have chosen Meridian, let alone the Bridgetower development. Our understanding is that the City believes they cannot change their initial approval even though it was not an "official" approval. With that being the case we urge the Commission to not let the CUP be approved with "less than" building requirements. All the homes that are in this area have been held to a high standard of building quality and material. Please don't giveaway another piece of Meridian's integrity by allowing a less than quality built (construction and material wise) project. We urge the Commission to vote NO on the approval of the CUP. If that is not an option then we urge the Commission to hold the developers and builders to the same high building standards as the rest of the communities around the proposed project. Thank you, Daniel B Clizb Belinda Sargent IRS LETTER 04-26-07
