To Honorable Mayor Simison, City of Meridian City Council, and City of Meridian Planning and Zoning Commission, In reference to the Skybreak plan, I will refer to Hill’s Century Farm North No. 2 FP H-2020-0077 https://weblink.meridiancity.org/WebLink/browse.aspx?id=191191&dbid=0&repo=MeridianCity Hill’s Century Farm does have a private restricted gated community in excess of 50 homes, yet there is a difference: SIDEWALKS. ADA Compliance for usable sidewalks for all is needed for this project for livability and safety. Brighton at Hill’s Century Farm No. 2 exceeded the usual home count behind gates, but I felt they presented a plan with a better approach to pedestrians and road uses. I saw the video presentation of the people walking in the street for this application. If the target market is 55-plus, then there should be ADA compliant sidewalks with technical standards of ACHD widths for private residential roads with no one walking in streets. With the varying construction phases and truck deliveries that people experience there will be big truck traffic so close to people trying to enjoy their neighborhood, walking the dog, or tending to visiting grandchildren. The density and monotony of some of the housing should be addressed, as well as the transition to existing homes. I feel there is all this space for a beautiful premiere community which this company is capable of and does so with some projects; there is definitely some room for improvement, as outlined in the Staff Report. Sincerely, Malissa Bernard 4025 N Dashwood Pl Meridian ID 83646 1
