Dear Mayor, Counsel, and Commissioners;
I'm writing in regards to last night's meeting about the proposed nightclub at Eagle and Ustick roads. It seemed like
after hearing everyone's testimonies...both approval and opposition, the majority of the commissioners didn't feel like
this was the 'right' location, due to traffic and parking. There was only one commissioner who was a bit more
lenient...the rest seemed very concerned, suggesting that they would prefer Brian to choose another location.
Then....the meeting ends and they are giving Brian (Oasis owner) time to get written approval to use other businesses'
parking areas. More parking isn't going to fix the traffic problem. Everyone thinks this is going to be a late-night
business. Weddings, art shows, dog adoptions, cheerleading, and dance instruction will not be late-night clientele.
Traffic will be horrendous...it already is. I live on Eagle Road and have for most of my 67 years. A traffic study needs to
be done for this area before another business or apartment is approved.
Before each of you was elected you promised to represent the people of this community and uphold family
values. From the Mayor's website:
