I understand there is a meeting this evening to discuss a dance/event center in Meridian called The Oasis.
Now, at age 65, I still go to dances and have been going for many years. The idea of social dancing, especially
in my age group, supports the effects of a loss in social interaction for those of us who might have loved ones
who have passed due to age or illness. We connect with friends and get vital exercise that is so important as
we age.
I understand there is a concern about an increase in crime and I hope you have a representative from the local
police force to give you guidance on this subject.
Yes, I live in Boise, but I teach yoga in Meridian and frequent many activities in Meridian, granted, in my age
group.
I hope this works out and the dance center becomes a reality.
