Good afternoon,
Unfortunately I am unable to attend the city council meeting tonight March 18th concerning the Oasis nightclub.
I wanted to write a quick email stating why I am not in favor of a nightclub at this location.
I live in the Jackson Square subdivision my house is one of the closest to the development site.
My concern is that there will not be enough parking for this type of venue a 10,000 square-foot concert house
wedding/nightclub. When I went to the initial meeting that Brian explained the details of the club he stated that 40% of
people would rideshare. Being a native Idahoan and a frequent concert attendee, I know this is not true. I know the
overflow parking will be on the streets of my neighborhood. Therefore in front and on the side of my house. We do not
want this type traffic in our neighborhood people driving around after they have been drinking or late in the evening
trying to get out onto the main streets will cause havoc. I also believe this type of traffic on Picard street will cause
difficulties for fire trucks/ emergency vehicles to get through during an emergency. There are two fire hydrants directly
across the street from my house, if cars were parking there emergency vehicles would not be able access them.
This type of venue does not belong in our Neighborhood the added traffic and people roaming around our streets will
cause a lot of problems for us citizen who live in Jackson Square. I am aware that the project developers of the Oasis
believe that they can control this but I know that as a business owner, you can not control what is going on in the
parking lot and the side streets as people are leaving the venue though out Nieghborhood!
Please do not allow this large of concert, wedding, nightclub venue in our neighborhood.
I’m excited for the growth of the development. I’m Opposing the size of this venue and the numbers of cars and people
it will bring to this location.
