I am very disappointed that the City of Meridian, who touts itself as the best place to raise a family, is considering allowing a nightclub to be built in an area surrounded by residential subdivisions full of families, evidenced by the fact that there are 3 elementary schools within 1 mile from this location. My second concern with this nightclub's location is the busy eagle road intersection that it sits on.. The light on Eagle, turning onto Ustick is already problematic. The traffic often gets backed up for several rotations of the light when it is busy. There doesn't appear to be adequate parking for the Health club and Nightclub both proposed for this site even though they both intend to be open until midnight and beyond. Ustick road turning onto Eagle is also backed up through the current light on CenterPoint many times throughout the day. Increased traffic will make it impossible to get to Saint Lukes or Primary Health in the case of an emergency at certain times of the day. Nightclubs are better suited in commercial or downtown areas where the loud music, litter, vandalism and crime can be more closely monitored and not affect residents who have worked hard to keep their neighborhoods safe and quiet to raise their families. I recently moved to this area (Eagle and Ustick) and I love how quiet my neighborhood is at night. I feel this nightclub will increase the noise, traffic and crime in our little piece of heaven. Eagle road is already busy enough but it does calm down at night when the stores close. I strongly urge the council to deny this request any subsequent requests for review for this type of an establishment at this already busy location. Please don't ruin my property values and my safe, quiet neighborhood I purposely moved to only a few short months ago. If you intend for Meridian to continue being known for its family centric values, please deny this request and move it instead to a less family populated area.
