In response to my previous objection to this project, I received a nice letter from Brian Tsai ( Owner of the Oasis )
explaining his position.
While I appreciate his thoughts, I also reflected on the effects that similar venues and the impact on the surrounding
neighborhoods. Consider the Ironwood on Glenwood and WilliB’s on Chinden. Both of these establishments have
significant noise and activity late into the night. Even in these locations there is significant buffering away from
residential properties. Zoning any such activity adjacent to residential properties without a large buffer will significantly
adversely impact quality of life and value of immediate properties in the area.
Meridian zoning should respect the importance of protecting our quality of life. If we desired to live in close proximity to
nightclubs and bars we would have chosen downtown Boise.
This request should be rejected. More appropriate locations would be in downtown meridian or in the village complex
where it is more appropriately matched.
Thank you,
Mike Housley
