Dear Planning and Zoning Commission,
I am writing due to great concern about the proposed Oasis Nightclub under your consideration.
1
The Eagle Road and Ustick Road location is in the middle of family oriented businesses and eateries, Kohl’s, Dick’s
Sporting Goods, Lowe’s, LePeep’s, Trader Jo’s, McDonald’s, Papa John’s, just to name a few. Most importantly, it is also
surrounded by numerous family neighborhoods, single family homes, town homes and apartments. Our neighborhoods
do not need or want to have a nightclub placed right in the middle of this area.
Eagle Road is already very heavily traveled, bumper to bumper at many times of the day. The nightclub will increase
Eagle Road traffic. Parking is potentially an issue with parking by nightclub patrons in the neighboring businesses
parking lots, whether for convenience or if the nightclub parking lot is full.
Nightlife activity destroys the quality of life and property values in the surrounding neighborhoods. It brings noise, litter,
vandalism and crime as been proven to be the case in states such as California, Texas, Florida, Washington, Georgia, and
Pennsylvania.
Nightclubs bring undesirable elements to the area...drunk people, vomit and urine on sidewalks, honking horns, just to
name a few.
There are three elementary schools within a mile of the proposed nightclub site. School children do not need to be in
such close proximity to a nightclub and all that it brings with it.
PLEASE deny the permit application for the Oasis Nightclub. There are other locations in Boise/Meridian which are more
suitable.
Sincerely,
Anna M. Martin
