As a resident of the city of Meridian, I need to voice my opinion about the Oasis Night Club that is seeking approval.
When I moved to Meridian 13 years ago, my family was seeking a place of refuge to raise our children. So, we looked for
a family-friendly city. We had family in Middleton, Meridian, Nampa, as well as scattered all over Utah, and a couple of
other States. Meridian's family centered atmosphere helped us to determine this is where we wanted to live and where
we wanted to raise a family. The Kit Kat club was an eyesore of Meridian and we were SO excited when that was
demolished because it made Meridian into an even more family-friendly and classy place to live.
Night clubs draw people to the area who are seeking a type of entertainment that statistically draws people who often
abuse alcohol, drugs, and present violent behavior. I don't want my beloved City to see an increase in crime rates. Nor
do I have a desire for my children to be exposed to this type of establishment or behavior.
Please, please, do not allow this approval go through for this night club!
