Good afternoon,
I am a local resident here in Meridian and I am in full support of the opening of The Oasis. I live across the street from it
and am in no worry of it being a threat or increasing crime. Just down Eagle Rd. is the Village and I’ve experienced more
of a threat there (being followed, men attempting to get me to leave and get drinks with them at the Matador even
when I expressed being a minor, and cat calls) and I still consider it a safe place because no matter where you go or what
type of area, or place, you are in, there is a possibility of crime. I believe the Oasis is completely capable and plans on
making it as safe as one can make it and provide cameras to assist protection if crime were to be committed. There are
bars at the village just down the street and Meridian has remained safe. It bring more business, jobs (which can assist
those who lost jobs due to the pandemic), and a closer access to concert/club venues. I’m am excited for it and would be
very disappointed if it could not be opened.
Thank you,
Maiya Brown
