To Whom It May Concern,
I live in Champion Park subdivision with my family, including 3 children. Champion Park subdivision is located kitty
corner to the proposed buildings on the corner of Eagle and Ustick. I strongly disagree with the placement of the Oasis
on the corner of Eagle and Ustick. Traffic is one concern, but more importantly, it’s my children. I like that my kids can
walk home from school (less than a mile away). I like that my son can ride his bike to work (less than a mile away). I like
that they can walk or ride bikes to the stores in our back yard, including Hobby Lobby, Kohl’s, Sally’s, Downiest,
Walgreens, etc (across from the proposed building complex). I would love for them to enjoy a Jamba Juice, in the same
set of proposed buildings as the Oasis. These are great outings for them to experience life independently, to be kids, to
earn and spend money, and contribute to the community.
I honor and respect people who start businesses, work hard, and offer community support. However, this is a conflict of
interest for my family. If the plan is to have a Jamba Juice next door to a store front which is defined as a night club on
their own website today (03-10-21), firstly, I’m disappointed in myself that I wasn’t aware of it earlier. Secondly, I’m
disappointed if the community and civic leaders really support this business. If you need relevant public opinion, here’s
absolute opposition to this proposal. Within a square mile, are 3 elementary schools. The Village is a beautiful addition
to our community. It’s beautiful, family-friendly place, as well as countless other businesses near us. This type of
business (night club) is not the wholesome family business I would agree with near our home.
Please oppose this type of business near my family.
Thank you,
Sara Melling

Ms. Melling,
Thank you so much for reaching out to me as many in our community are doing, I truly appreciate receiving
your opinion on this matter!
I believe legally, I cannot comment further to ensure I can vote on this in case it is appealed out of Planning
and Zoning to the City Council... our land use matters are handled totally on the record, so I am adding this to
the Clerk's records.
Have a great day,
Liz
