I am the proud mother of 4 children, and have lived in Meridian since 2006. My family came from Boise, and we have
always loved this beautiful area. As a professional singer and a family person, I am strongly in favor of opening venues
such as the Oasis. I have traveled nationaly and internationally for my job and as such, have worked a multitude of
venues. Throughout Europe and Eastern United states, these upscale lounge/ nightclubs not only bring a lot of money
into the area, but provide a venue that can and will actually pay their musicians. Especially due to the fact that
Carona created an economical crunch on the music industry, we need all the support we can get. Musicians, self
employed agents, are not counted as unemployed when our venues and events were shut down, and therefore
recieved no government help. The only way to really create a stabilizing balance is to get people back to work. Please
consider this carefully as there are many out of work musicians with families to support! Thank you for taking the time
to read this. Please allow Oasis to open, as well as other venues.
