To the Planning and Zoning Commission in consideration of the Oasis CUP H- 2021-0004: I am a resident in the general
vicinity east of the proposed site of the Oasis Nightclub and in the neighborhood adjacent to Kleiner Park. I have
reviewed the application materials, including the "narrative" where a reasoned argument for the Oasis Nightclub is
presented and offers proposed mitigation to valid concerns and also suggests several value-adds to the community. I
DO NOT AGREE with it, however, as the main goal is to create a nightclub, not to create a multi-use venue for the
community. Perhaps it is a wonderful concept and development, BUT NOT FOR THIS SPECIFIC SITE LOCATION,
please!
Please do not approve the CUP and allow the Oasis to be situated at this particular site - please encourage
consideration of such a venue at a site which will not impact the traffic, nor the peaceful life of our current
residents. Meridian is indeed a wonderful community, and I can agree to consider many types of development and
venues to serve the community, but I depend upon the Planning and Zoning Commission to put the interests and well-
being of the adjacent community and residents first and foremost. Again, I have no specific objections to the Oasis
Nightclub other than this location for its development which I believe, and assert, is inappropriate.
Also, I noticed two of the seven appointed members of the Commission had terms ending January 31, 2021. Will
replacement appointees be in place for the March 18th hearing, or will only five members be making this important
decision?
