Community Planning The City of Meridian has requested feedback regarding a proposed annexation and
Engineering&Surveying preliminary plat for the Villagio Subdivision, which will consist of 95 detached
Permitting
single-family homes on 19.6 acres located northwest of the McDermott Road and
McMillan Road intersection on Parcel#SO429427300.
Ada County is supportive of the application due to the proximity of the site to
existing public services and due to its compatibility with the Future Land Use Map of
the Meridian Comprehensive Plan, as adopted by Ada County, which designates the
site as Medium Density Residential, a designation which is primarily intended for
single-family residential development at densities of three to eight units per acre.
The proposal to dedicate 2.6 acres of the site as open space, which will include
pedestrian pathways, a playground and a covered sitting area is supported by Goal
3.07.02A of the Meridian Comprehensive Plan, as adopted by Ada County, which
encourages usable open space be incorporated into new residential subdivisions, and
Goal 2.01.01E which encourages opportunities for physical activity to be provided
with new development.
The street and sidewalk connections which are proposed to the north, south, east and
west are also in conformance with Goal 3.03.020, which encourages new
development to connect local roadways to adjacent properties and Goal 3.07.02C
which requires pedestrian connections in new developments in order to link
subdivisions together and promote neighborhood connectivity.
