1. Minutes from December 10, 2020 Regular Meeting
B. Griffith made motion to approve minutes, seconded by M. Tzompa

NEW BUSINESS [ACTION ITEMS]
2. Approval of Monthly Financial Statement
J. Peters made motion to approve financial statement, seconded by B. Griffith
All ayes
3. Funding Request Presentation by Autumn Kersey of Treasure Valley Children's
Theater
A. Kersey presented information about the ongoing efforts of the Treasure Valley
Children’s Theater (TVCT) for the commissioners. She elaborated on pandemic-
related adjustments made by TVCT during 2020 and how TVCT plans to move
forward with their mission while still accommodating recommended safety
measures in 2021. A. Kersey submitted a request for a total of $6,300. This total is
the summation of $1,000 for four productions this summer as well as matching a
$1,300 grant awarded to TVCT by the Idaho Commission for the Arts.
The presentation was well received and L. Mauldin and A. Kersey detailed the
history of the Commission’s partnership with TVCT for the benefit of the new
commissioners.
J. Cavaness-Williams made motion to approve the total request for funding,
seconded by B. Griffith

3. Approve Artists Selected By Public Art Subcommittee for the Meridian Mural
Series
J. Peters described the selection process carried out by the Public Art
Subcommittee in order to choose three artists for the Meridian Mural Series. J.
Peters praised the talent of the applications, attributing the success of the
application process to the wide dissemination efforts of the Commission.
N. Schofield made motion to approve the proposed artists, seconded by B. Griffith

4. Chair and Vice Chair Elections for 2021
L. Mauldin turned the discussion over to B. Griffith. B. Griffith opened nominations
for Arts Commission Chair.
L. Mauldin nominated B. Griffith for Chair, seconded by N. Schofield.
J. Cavaness-Williams nominated L. Mauldin for Chair, seconded by M. Tzompa.
L. Mauldin declined her nomination.
The motion to appoint B. Griffith as Chair was passed with all ayes.
B. Griffith opened nominations for Arts Commission Vice Chair.
L. Mauldin nominated J. Peters for Vice Chair, seconded by J. Peters.
The motion to appoint J. Peters as Vice Chair was passed with all ayes.
B. Griffith announced that N. Schofield will serve as the new Initial Point Gallery
Subcommittee Chair and L. Mauldin will serve as the new Events & Outreach
Subcommittee Chair.
REPORTS [ACTION ITEM]
5. Update: Events & Outreach Subcommittee Meeting
M. Tzompa updated the Commission on the Subcommittee’s work regarding a new
band for Concerts on Broadway, feedback received from Special Events
Coordinator Renee White, Dickens Singers costumes, and the Ornament Drop
organized last month. Positive feedback was given regarding the Ornament Drop
and a desire to continue with the event.
7. Update: Public Art Subcommittee
J. Peters informed the Commission that most of the Public Art Subcommittee’s
update was given when discussing the Meridian Mural Series.
8. Update: Diversity Subcommittee
T. Vannucci let the Commission know that the Diversity Subcommittee had their
first meeting and had good discussion regarding priorities and first steps. At this
point, the Subcommittee is researching and gathering information in order to
transition into actionable steps.
