Subject:Proposed Development on Ten Mile and Pine
External Sender - Please use caution with links or attachments.
Hello,
I live off of Pine east of Black Cat. Our HOA president encouraged us to submit comments regarding the proposed
development on Ten Mile and Pine prior to tomorrow's meeting.
I fully expected a development to not be long when we moved in. Sure, it's a bummer. We like it better with cows and
horses across the Ten Mile Canal, but it is what it is. If I have a vote, I vote no. But I fully expect it to happen, and I'm not
going to futilely complain.
I would, however, like to give two cents about access over Ten Mile Canal. I for one would like traffic to not be able to
cross over Ten Mile Canal (from the new development to our neighborhoods). I don't want the traffic on Pine to be
dramatically increased, as would happen if there's access on both ends. Now, granted, traffic on Pine is currently
quite crappy at rush hour and it is near impossible to turn left onto Black Cat off of Pine. A bridge over Ten Mile Canal
would help that, but so would a light at Pine and Black Cat. We can keep all the neighborhoods involved (existing and
new development) feeling small, secluded, and safe if we minimize through traffic. An extended walking trail or
pedestrian bridge along Ten Mile Canal would be greatly appreciated, but increased traffic along Pine would not be.
Thank you for your attention and your work for our community.
