Good morning,
My name is Jamie Stevens. I live at 847 W Bear Track Court, Meridian ID 83642. I am writing in regards to the proposal
for an ordinance to limit operation of ATVs and UTVs on Meridian streets.
I have people in my neighborhood who have electric mobility scooters, which are needed for their adult disabled
children and elderly patrons who cannot, by themselves, go for walks outside and enjoy the outdoors. I believe this
ordinance would seriously harm those people who rely on scooters like this to enjoy being outside, and is in no way fair
to them. They are cautious, obey all street laws, and just want a means to enjoy being outside. Will scooters like this still
be fine to use if this ordinance passes?
I would hate to see an all inclusive ordinance passed because of a few reckless people, to the detriment of many
others. Including those who live near golf courses and have spent money on golf carts already. Please carefully review
this ordinance to ensure it isn't being passed to rule out a few, to the detriment of many, many other law abiding
citizens who require vehicles like this to be outside, or have already spent a lot of money to have one for personal uses.
