Has a CUP been filed for a drinking establishment at the corner of Eagle and Ustick yet? Although I’m out of the 500foot
radius I am very concerned about this potential project.

Thank you for the message. The City of Meridian is aware of recent marketing
materials that advertise a “coming soon” nightclub near the southwest corner of the
Eagle/Ustick intersection. To operate a nightclub, also known as a Drinking
Establishment per City Code, a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) must first be obtained.
To date, a CUP application for this use has not been submitted to the City for review
and processing. Prior to submitting an application for a CUP to the City, a
neighborhood meeting between the applicant and property owners within 500 feet of
the site must be held. All property owners within 500 feet will be notified and invited by
the applicant. After an application is submitted, a public hearing before the City’s
Planning & Zoning Commission will be held. Notice of the public hearing will be sent by
postcard by the City to all property owners within 500 feet. The property owner has
been notified of these process requirements and the marketing sign should be
removed in short order. Again, to date, the City of Meridian has not received, reviewed
or granted approval for a nightclub/bar/drinking establishment in this location.

Hello,
I am extremely disappointed that Meridian is even considering a nightclub at the corner of Eagle and
Ustick. I live less than a mile away off Ustick and do not want to think of our neighborhood being
affected by drunk, impaired drivers, clientele that are less than desirable in our area.
I would appreciate knowing what we can do to reverse this thinking, planning at the Meridian city office.
