Thank you for the message. The City of Meridian is aware of recent marketing
materials that advertise a “coming soon” nightclub near the southwest corner of the
Eagle/Ustick intersection. To operate a nightclub, also known as a Drinking
Establishment per City Code, a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) must first be obtained.
To date, a CUP application for this use has not been submitted to the City for review
and processing. Prior to submitting an application for a CUP to the City, a
neighborhood meeting between the applicant and property owners within 500 feet of
the site must be held. All property owners within 500 feet will be notified and invited by
the applicant. After an application is submitted, a public hearing before the City’s
Planning & Zoning Commission will be held. Notice of the public hearing will be sent by
postcard by the City to all property owners within 500 feet. The property owner has
been notified of these process requirements and the marketing sign should be
removed in short order. Again, to date, the City of Meridian has not received, reviewed
or granted approval for a nightclub/bar/drinking establishment in this location.

To whom it may concern:
My husband and I are homeowners in Packard Estates, a neighborhood near Ustick and Eagle
Roads, where the new Oasis nightclub will be built (according to the signage on the lot). I am very
concerned about having a nightclub in our neighborhood, and would like to know when a hearing was
held, because I must have missed it and did not have an opportunity to voice my concerns about this
project. Has the Oasis been officially approved by the City of Meridian?
I'd appreciate your response.
