IDAEO:-
Section 1. There is hereby granted to ldaho Power Comlnny, its successors anil
asslgns (herein cal1ed the Grantee) the rightl privll-ege or francLrise uritil.
December 3lr 2021, to construct, maintain and operate in the present and future
streetst a11eye and public places i-n the City of Meridian, Ada County, Idaho, andits succesaorEi, electric Ilght and power lines, together rrith all the necessary
or desirable appurtenances (inolucting under$round, conduits', poles, towers., wires,
transmiesj-on llnee and. telegraph and telephone linee for its own uoe), for the
purpose of supplying electricity to said City, the i-nhabitants thereof and persons
and corporations beyond. the limits thereof, for ltght, heat, power and o.ther
purposes.
Section 2. Po1es and towers strall be constructed in a good and substantial
mannerr and will be so ebected as not to interfere with travel'or ord.inaqlr use
of streets and a1Ieys. The location of poIes, towers and conduits shall be fixed
und.er the supervision of the Clty Council of the City, but not so as to lnterfere
urreasonably rrith the proper operation of the Granteers 1ines.
Section J. The Grantee shaIl indemnify anit save the City harmless from any
and all expbnse or liabil-ity which may accrue to it by reason of the negligence or
misconduct of the Grantee in the construction, operation or maintenance of its
system hereunder.
Section 4. The Grantee shall file r*ith the City Clerk an acceptance in writing
of this franchise, on or before thirty days after the final passage hereof.
Section 5. Ihis Ordinance sha1l take effect upon its lnssage, approva1 by the
Mayor, acceptance as retluired hereln', and publlcation'within one month after its
PaSSage.
