Section 1. It shal"1 be the duty of the Chief of Pollce of the City of
Meridian to lssue cLtations to ihe owners gr keepers of any and aJ-1 dogs runrLirg
8.t large r,r-lthin the linits of tho City of r"bridisn rdthout colfars bo-aring lLcense
tags provided by Sectlon 8-602 of the 0rdlnances of the City of Meridian, vhathar
ueariilg collars uitb license tags attached or vhether such dogs so ::.rnrring at
large are ovned or harbored by any person reslding vithin the City Liults of the
City or elsewhere; provided, that when a clog vearing a colJ'ar bearing license
tag of the plecedir€ year is taken up, the Chief of ?ol-ic6 shaLl notify the owner
or the representative of the ovner if owner or such representative can tre fornd.

If the owner or representative of the ovner of any dog taken up and irpounded by
the Chlef of Pol-ico urder the provlsJ-ons of this ordinance shalt fail to pey the
lieense fee on such dog and the fee of one dollar ($f.oo) to the Chief of Police

Chief of Police rey dispose of such dog; first, by delivarlng such dog to any
