This issue is being discussed at our Transportation Commission during their February meeting and may or may not be recommended for action to the City Council. While I do not have a vote on this issue unless there is a tie at City Council, I will be listening to the conversation and weighing in as appropriate. I appreciate the time to share your views. Dear Mayor, As the wife in of a former police officer, and ten year residents of Idaho, we request that you consider not to putting regulations on small motor vehicles used for short and local distances. Most people who have read the proposal regarding Title 7 chapter 5 in regards to ATV’s, golf carts etc. agree that if they are registered and insured, it is the owners responsibility to make sure a driver of their vehicle has experienced training and safety precautions by a responsible party. We don’t need everyone being punished for the few irresponsible. I believe it should be monitored by police on a case by case basis. We appreciate you working to keep our city safe. But we really believe personal responsibility is key. Your not going to get everyone to be responsible by taking rights away.
