RECEIVED DEC 2 9 2005 C~ty Of Meridi8l1 CIty Clerk Office Memo To: William Berg, Jr.; Tara Green From: Clint Dolsby, P.E., Staff Engineer CC: Len Grady, P.E., City Engineer Date: 12/29/2005 Re: Proposed Agenda Item for January 3, 2006 City Council Meeting The Public Works Department respectfully requests the following items be placed on the January 3 City Council agenda, under Consent Agenda, for Council's consideration: South Area Lift Station and Pipeline Project. CH2M HILL has submitted a task order, scope of work, and budget for the engineering services. They propose to complete the work for $145,300. This is an extension of the miscellaneous wastewater services agreement approved by City Council on the 18th of January, 2005 for the Engineering Services for Miscellaneous Wastewater Projects. This project provides engineering services for the preliminary design of a lift station in the south area. Recommended Council Action: The Public Works Department recommends that City Council approves the contract for the South Area Lift Station and Pipeline Project with CH2M HILL for $145,300 and authorize the Mayor to sign it. ~ Landino Lift Station Upgrade. Two bids were received for this project as summarized below and detailed in the attached spreadsheet: . Star Construction, LLC Irminger Construction, Inc $96,825.00 $109,000.00 . This project consists of upgrading an existing lift station including removal and salvaging existing pumps to the Owner, installation of two new submersible sewage pumps and related mechanical and electrical work. The work also includes construction of a diversion structure, piping, and related sitework. 8 Page 1 Recommended Council Action: The Public Works Department recommends that City Council approves the contract for the Landing Lift Station Upgrade with Star Construction, LLC for $96,825.00 and authorize the Mayor to sign it. Bear Creek Chopper PumpNFD Pre-Purchase Project. One bid was received for this project as summarized below and detailed in the attached spreadsheet: . Wm. H. Reilly & Co. $27,448.00 This project consists of furnishing two Chopper Pumps and assocated Variable Frequency Drives for installation by others. Recommended Council Action: The Public Works Department recommends that City Council approves the contract for the Bear Creek Chopper PumpNFD Pre-Purchase Project with Wm. H Reilly & Co. for $27,448.00 and authorize the Mayor to sign it. Thank you for your consideration.
