Subject: Proposed ATV, UTV, AND GOLF CART ORDINANCE, TITLE 7, MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, CHAPTER 5 There is a proposed ATV, UTV, AND GOLF CART ORDINANCE, TITLE 7, MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, CHAPTER 5. I would like to express my opposition to this ordinance. The Idaho State Code Title 49 allows us to operate ATVs and UTVs on State, County, and City Roads. The State Legislators think that ATVs and UTVs are safe enough to drive on State, County, and City roads. We now enjoy being able to take our ATV and UTV, to gas stations, carwashes, run errands, commute to work, take the kids for a ride around town, drive them to designated Off Road Trails, or allow us to go wherever the State Code Allows. If this ordinance were to pass, and you live in Meridian it would force us to trailer our vehicles to the gas station, put them on the trailer and take them to the carwash to clean them, trailer them everywhere we go to ride, not be able to run errands, not commute to work, not take the kids for a ride around town, or use them as our state legislature has seen fit. For me it would just plainly be inconvenient. If safety is the issue UTVs have roll bars, seat belts, and either side safety nets or side doors to keep passengers inside the UTV in case of an accident. ATV are no less safe than a bicycle, scooter, or motorcycle if they were to get in an accident. Sincerely Jim Kulm 831 E Chateau Dr 1
