There is an error on pz-Existing conditions Topo. It shows deciduous bushes when 12 or more are up to 100 foot tall Cottonwood Trees. The root
system is shallow and the size of the canopy. Six of these in a 200 foot span from Victory Road would have roots supporting Ten Mile Creek bank.
If the roots are dug up, the creek bank would collapse. If they are left, they will rot and collapse later. Victory and Locust Grove each have one that
could collapse said roads. I urge you to contact the County Extension office as they can advise you on what needs to be done. The plans shows all
of these trees gone. The third tree from Victory was dying last spring. It has increased to date of visual deterioration of over half.
I have watched these trees from my backyard and have seen Bald and Golden Eagles, many hawks and other birds of prey land there. Gold Finches
nest behind my house and produce 2 to 3 broods a summer. Mallard ducks nest on the creek banks . California Quail numbers are down for this
immediate area for this year but last year I observed a pair of quail having 18 babies. They walked on top of the creek bank at least twice a day. All
18 babies made it to maturity.
Thank you,
Patricia J. Johnson
