HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-12-17 Ken & Sherry Fawcett12/17/2020 TO: Meridian City Clerk ATTENTION: Planning and Zoning Board and City Council SUBJECT: Public comments regarding subject: H-2020-0083 Southridge South RZ,PP As 27 year residents of the Val Vista subdivision 2 (block 1, lot 7), we would like to submit our comments regarding the rezoning proposal as submitted by the The Land Group regarding Southridge South subdivision, as to be discussed at the 12/17/2020 P&Z board meeting. Specifically, we would like our thoughts known regarding the revised placement of the stub road for future connection to Val Vista Court. Please consider our objection to the new proposed location of the stub road between lots B13L07 and B10L01 as identified on the revised plat map, dated, 12/08/2020, which would terminate at the north side of Scott Nichols property in Val Vista subdivision. It is our observation that in this revision, The Land Group is attempting to move the stub road to the east closer to the original stub road proposal from the 2006 Southridge submission, and was strongly opposed by the residents of Val Vista subdivisions. We feel that the stub road location should be moved back to the west to the approximate location as was agreed to by the Land Group and approved by the Meridian city council in 2007. This would place the stub road approximately between B13L04 and B13L05 as identified on the 12/08/2020 dated plat map. We, along with our fellow residents of the Val Vista subdivision are united in preserving the rural estate character of our neighborhood and are not interested in seeing any individual lot within our neighborhood subdivided into R8 type housing, destroying that rural character and creating potential neighbor conflicts by mixing existing large estate properties and the sights, sounds and smells of our livestock together with higher density housing. Please consider our request to require The Land Group move the stub road back to the approximate original 2007 location well to the west of their 12/08/2020 proposal.
