Subject:Opposition to Compass Pointe (H-2020-0062) Corner of Victory & Locust Grove
External Sender - Please use caution with links or attachments.
We respectfully oppose the rezone and application for subdivision for the compass point project.
The reasons for this opposition are:
1) Lack of open spaces in this specific neighborhood and lack of planning for open spaces with the high density of homes in the neighborhood.
2) Traffic congestion due to current 2 lane Locust Grove and victory roads.
Lack of improvements to intersection at Locust Grove and victory Road.
Impaired visibility of traffic westbound on victory Road to the first entrance into Cabela Creek due to the hill incline at that location.
Many children play near the intersection of Locust Grove and East Lake Creek Street. The increased traffic congestion is not safe and there are no speed bumps
or other access improvements planned by the highway district for traffic to get onto Locust Grove.
3) The increased overall density with this project and also the project on the south of victory Road that is currently under application will change the nature of
the area from low density homes with open space, to crowded area with no open spaces;
4) There is a bird of prey, perhaps a hawk, that appears to use this area as its habitat;
5) If approved, we ask that access be provided on to either Locust Grove or Victory from this new subdivision and through our neighborhood..
That the approval be delayed until the improvements are made to Locust Grove and the intersection of Locust Grove and victory Road.
Thank you for changing the subdivision plan to be more consistent with the existing Cabella Creek subdivision.
Thank you,
1
