This is to inform you of my (& others) opposition to the rezoning of the land on the SW corner of Locust Grove for the purpose of high density modern housing. Simply put, the area is not ready for the extra traffic as the infrastructure has currently not caught up with current use. If more traffic is added to the current use it would woefully hinder emergency vehicles from using that particular intersection. In my opinion, the modern style and overly crowded plans of the developers are simply out of place with the rest of the community. It would be a nightmare situation of out-of-design homes being jammed together (5 to an acre), with no common sense initiated as to the reality of the extra people living in that zone won't use 2 car garages to park their 2-3 vehicles in those garages. It's common to see (if one looks) they will store all their belongings in the so-called garages and attempt to park their vehicles on the narrow streets (private pathways). They are planning (H-2020-0100) a plight. I don't know, at present, if anyone contacted the Meridian Fire Department as to fire zoning considering distance between houses. It would be really too bad if someone was to discover it after the blight was occupied. If I understand it correctly, if the instance of that sort of zoning were discovered after inhabiting, every other home would have to come down. At any rate, I think this high density rezoning on the SW corner of Locust Grove & Victory Rd. would be better used as a park, not a misused area of profit. Highest regards, Keith Lenzner 1
