To Whom it may Concern/City Council/Planning& Zoning: I am writing to you about the proposed Compass Pointe zoning application and development at the corner of Victory and S Locust Grove intersection for the development of the 4.69 acre lot consisting of 48 high density townhomes and a private road. I AM in FULL support of growth. But it must be Wise Growth or Quality Growth. Not smash-as-many-people- per-acre growth, as I have been observing over the last 10-15 years. Consequently I am in OPPOSITION of the rezoning and development as I reside nearby development to my residence in Meridian. Re-zoning this property high density is not a wise choice. Traffic: The area is already impacted with Way too much traffic. I have been reading and hearing for over 25 years that Locust Grove was going to be made a three-lane road. It had not happened! And you want to add more cars to it! Schools: which are currently overcrowded with not enough revenue to currently sustain them, let alone impact them with more students. Teachers are already overburdened with too many students per classroom. Crime: I don’t have statistics, but know what I read in the paper. The more people that are packed into a location, the more crime increases. It is Not Safe to have more high density development. When we moved here from Montana 25+ ago the population of Meridian was 18,000. Due to uncontrolled growth it is no at least 118,000. That is appalling! Mostly because is has destroyed the beauty of Idaho. Then I recall hearing and reading many complaints about out-of-staters moving here and destroying Idaho. Most common comment s were, “turning it into California. Which once was a beautiful state, destroyed by uncontrolled growth! You are going to make your decision re this and Many future properties, as farmers and ranchers sell off their land. I would hoots do I pray you make your choices wisely. Not with Revenue as the main purpose, but actually considering the Quality of the community and the people. The Quality of a future Idaho. Do you want it to become a sprawling crime packed suburbia or a pleasant inviting and envied city? The choice is up to you. Thank you, Linda Alexander 1650 Suzan Dr Meridian Sent from my iPhone 1
