Dear City Council, Please do not pass the Compass Pointe application #H-2020-0100 I am highly opposed to the Compass Pointe zoning application and development at the corner of Victory and S Locust Grove intersection for the development of the 4.69 acre lot consisting of 48 high density town homes and a private road. I live in Cavenaugh, a nearby development in Meridian. The entry that my family uses onto Locust Grove from Pistioa can already take several minutes due to it’s proximity to the busy intersection at Locust Grove and Meridian. Adding an additional road with 48 units even closer to the intersection will make this road even more congested. Adding a round about (with the intent to keep traffic moving) will make turning onto Locust Grove even more difficult because there will no longer be a break to make that turn when the traffic lights change. I do not believe that with a round about, that cars trying to turn on locust grove will have enough warning to safely enter the road. This will contribute to frustrated residents making riskier moves pulling out, which will cause many more accidents in the area. In addition to this, this area is already unfriendly to pedestrians. The sidewalks have no continuity on Locust Grove or Victory making it impossible to walk between the four corners. The increased traffic and round about instead of the stoplight (with crosswalks) will make this area even less safe for foot and bike traffic, such as my children who attend school on and piano lessons the other side of Locust Grove. Please, Please, do not allow adding this high density building project to overwhelm our small roads. This tiny plot physically has no place for an outlet that would not overwhelm this intersection. I recognize that high density housing is important, but please only choose to allow it on plots that can allow for safe entrance on to roads that can support the added traffic. Thank You, Kimberly Horch 1
