We do not support Compass Pointe application #H-2020-0100 To Whom it may Concern/City Council, We are writing to you about the proposed Compass Pointe zoning application and development at the corner of Victory and S Locust Grove intersection for the development of the 4.69 acre lot consisting of 48 high density town homes and a private road. We are in full opposition of the rezoning and development as I reside in Caven Ridge Estates, approximately .5 mile off of Standing Timber & Victory. With the increased housing in our area, came the arrival of a lot of children. It increased so much that it required the installation of a pedestrian stop light on Standing Timber and Victory this last summer. In addition, it is currently near to impossible to either go straight across Victory to remain on Standing Timber or make a left out of Observation Point subdivision. When including the large apartment complex on the corner of Victory and Meridian Rd. the traffic is already unbearable. Not only will the current proposal negatively affect the already increasing traffic, but with the inclusion of a round about it would slow things down for residents to an unsupportable degree. It would not only be an inconvenience, but increased traffic could also pose a hazard to pedestrians and children that play and commute to Mountain View High School. We are empty nesters, however, it is a known fact that Meridian schools are already overburdened with students. This is a strong concern and we therefore oppose the addition of this zoning and development as it will create higher traffic, a possible direct threat to pedestrians, and over stressing the school system.
