HomeMy WebLinkAboutNarrative1 Narrative We are applying to modify the existing Landscape by removing the planter boxes in the concrete near the entrance and relocating the trees to nearby locations. We have added 1 extra tree to the existing plan. We felt the change was necessary for several reasons. First of all is safety. The planter boxes were poorly planned adjacent to our handicapped parking spots and would cause those areas to be more hazardous. We worry about tripping hazards as handicapped individuals would likely step through this area to get to the building. We also worry about debris from the planter boxes blowing into these handicapped parking areas, causing tripping hazards. Second concern is the proximity to underground utilities. Many of the utilities to the building are in near proximity to the proposed plantar boxes and roots from the trees could eventually reach those utilities. Third, we feel the innovative design of the entrance area is very clean and usable for those who frequent the building. The close proximity of the already existing trees in the parking lot planter boxes, when mature, will be reaching near the areas that we are proposing a relocation. Those are the only changes we are requesting. Please recognize that this alternative request provides a superior environmental impact in that it adds one tree overall to the existing plan. Thank you for your consideration. Tyson Gray Vertical View
