Subject:Compass Pointe #H2020-0062
Dear Sir/Madame,
I am writing to you in regards to the proposed development on the SW corner of Locust Grove & Victory
roads: Compass Point H2020-0062. I strongly oppose the development for multiple reasons. Please see below:
High density housing on the corner of a major South Meridian intersection with ONLY one exit onto public
roads. This is a severe safety/traffic issue. Our house backs up to Locust Grove and the traffic especially during
school season is extremely backed up moving from south to north on Locust Grove. It is nearly impossible to
make a left turn from Ionia Street onto Locust Grove at these times. Most people in our neighborhood will not
attempt this turn and instead exit Tuscany Village from S Ascaino Ave onto Victory Road. The entire proposed
Compass Pointe would quickly figure this out as they would not be able to turn left onto Locust Grove at rush
hour. They will turn right on Locust Grove, right on Ionia, right on Murlo Way, right on Ascaino to Victory
Road. This would occur during the time all of the children are walking to their bus stops in Tuscany Village.
There are two major bus stops they would drive by creating a hazard for the neighborhood kids. The bus stops
are on Ionia St & Murlo Way and Ascaino Ave& Murlo Way.
The proposed subdivision does not have enough open space for that many families.
The housing density compared to all of the neighborhoods around it, does not align. This land was built one
house and now they are proposing that the land can support 50 plus households.
Thank you for your consideration.
Best Regards,
Jason Skelton
