Per Republic Services all enclosure dimensions and approaches have been met per plans attached. We
do not stamp plans per say but rather give approval through e-mail and Republic Services approves of
the plans attached.

Hi Lee,
We have revised the landscape plan to hopefully address your concerns, please see the attached. We
slid the trees on the north to be further away from the enclosure, so they will not interfere with the
trash trucks. We also switched the trees next to the southern enclosure out. Please take a look and let
me know if this satisfy your concerns. If so, I will circulate to ACHD and City of Meridian for comment.

Thank you for responding.
The radius of the turns wasn’t my concern so much as the overhead clearance. The truck servicing this
area is a front load truck and it lifts the cans 20+ feet in the air for servicing. Any overhead obstruction
provides the potential for damage to property and our trucks.

I spoke with our planner and he did not see an issue with the truck radius for the enclosures.
Lee – Please correct me if I am incorrect in this statement.

Thank you for submitting the landscaping plans.
After analyzing the plans, I do share the same concern for clearance to service the enclosure. With the
enclosure being crowded on both sides of the approach, and considering the full growth of the tree, I do
feel that they would cause servicing difficulties.
Is there an alternative to having the trees surrounding the enclosure, namely the tree located to the
right of the front of the enclosure?

We just discussed this project at the development review meeting. There was some concern in regard to
the location of the trash enclosures and whether republic services will have issues with it. This could
result in some redesign. Please contact James Markle about this. I’ve copied him and attached the
landscape plan. We’re also not sure about whether ACHD is going to support the location of the
enclosures (also copied). I recommend you contact them ASAP because this issue will come up in the
staff report.
