We definitely DO NOT want the split fence but everything else is what we all agreed upon. - Original Message - From: Tammy Roae~§ To: TacrLl!JY Rogers Sent: Sunday, November 13, 2005 7:59 PM Subject: Fence in Southern Springs Honorable Mayor and City Council City of Meridian 11/14/2005 33 East Fairview Avenue Boise, Idaho 83642 Re: Southern Springs Fence Modification Issue This letter is to inform you of the wishes of the residents in Running Brook Estates regarding a fence for protection and privacy from the Southern Springs Development currently being built directly behind our homes. We (Dale 8: Tammy Rogers) and several of our affected neighbors met with The Land Group, the developers of Southern Springs on October 26th to discuss the issue of the placement of a fence. The majority of residents that attended the meeting were in agreement that we must have a fence to protect our privacy from the development. This is not a new issue. A fence was agreed upon when this project first started. The issue has been where to place the fence. Although not our first choice, on October 26th it was finally agreed that the fence would be placed directly on the west side of the 'dual purpose path' but placed at the same grade as the path, ie, not any lower than the already paved path. Any lower would defeat the purpose of a 6 foot fence because of the way the land sits. It was agreed that it would be a minimum of 6 foot high and tan in color and that it would be open on the south and north end. We do NOT agree to a split fence, ie. several sections being open along the path and as a matter of fact, are very much against a split fence. The south and north openings should be sufficient since this "walking path" really goes NOWHERE and really is not very long in length. Openings along the path would only cause many negative issues regarding trash, crime, headlights, etc., not to mention issues with our privacy because of the way our homes are positioned along the creek. On October 26th, we agreed to a fence as above but NOT to any other openings except at the south entrance and the north entrance. We would prefer that this fence be completed immediately and then we request that the city place signs at either entrance prohibiting motorized vehicles along the "path" since motorized vehicles are currently "ripping" up and down the path. It is enough to have to give up our privacy with people walking this path but to have to hear motorized sounds and undo noise would not be fair to the residents. Thank you in advance to the Mayor and City Council for listening to our concerns and to the developer for helping us to reach a compromise that we can all live with!!! Very truly yours, Dale and Tammy Rogers 1771 S. Marsh Wood Place Meridian, Idaho 83642 11/14/2005
