Subject:
Southern Springs Commercial Development
After attending the September 9, 2003, Meridian City Council Public Hearing and
obtaining a copy of the Finding of Fact and Conclusions of Law, it appears obvious that
there is to be a 20 foot improved utility easement, with a 6 foot vinyl fence on the east
side of the 10 foot pedestrian path. There were numerous resident testimony and
extensive City Council conversation regarding these details during the public meeting.
Your letter dated October 18,2005, states that "the pathway along the Creek is a very
nice neighborhood amenity for all residents as well as our commercial development".
The bordering neighbors of Running Brook Subdivision disagree that this is a positive
amenity for our neighborhood. The 6 foot fence is the only acceptable barrier to protect
our residential area from the Southern Springs commercial development and pedestrian
pathway.
In closing, we believe that not honoring the above agreement has been very disrespectful
and disappointing to the residents of the Running Brook Subdivision.
