Tara,
Please forward this to the Meridian City Council for me. I am writing to oppose the application to extend the height
requirement in the R-8 zone for Rocky Mountain High School. Due to the nature and the programmatic requirements of a
high school bui~ing, maybe the middle of a very nice new neighborhood with a view of the Boise Mountains and foothills
is not the best place for it. Particularly since it cannot be designed to meet the height requirements of the neighborhood
and the city's requirement of R-8 zoning. Putting a building of this size and almost twice as tall as another structure,
within twenty miles, on the bench, will disrupt the esthetics of the neighborhood, devalue properties, and generally be a
huge eyesore. It will be out of place. This is why we have zoning restrictions - to protect the nature of what we have to
look at when we invest hundreds of thousands of dollars in our homes.
Thank you,
Molly Struckman
