CITY OF MERIDIAN ORDINANCE NO. ftJ 5)-/ ( 5"9
BY THE CITY COUNCIL: BIRD, DONNELL, ROUNTREE, WARDLE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 5, OF THE MERIDIAN
CITY CODE REGARDING THE MECHANICAL AND GAS CODE;
PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR A WAIVER OF
THE READING RULES; AND PROVIDING FOR A SUMMARY; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, IDAHO:
. Section 1. That Title 10, Chapter 5, ofthe Meridian City Code is amended to read
as follows:
CHAPTER 5
MECHANICAL AND FUEL GAS CODES
1O~5-1: CODES ADOPTED:
That certain document, being marked and designated as the 200Gl tlntemational
mMechanical e!:;ode andt;Euel gGas e!:;ode as published by the International Code
Council, be and is hereby adopted as the eGode of the sÇity for regulating the design,
construction, quality of materials, erection, installation, alteration, repair, location,
relocation, replacement, addition to, use or maintenance of heating, ventilating, cooling,
refugeration systems, incinerators, or other miscellaneous heat producing appliances in
the eCity which sCode provides for the issuance of permits and collection of fees
therefor; and each and all ofthe regulations, provisions, conditions and terms of such
iInternational mMechanical sÇ.ode, 200G;2 edition, published by the International Code
Council, on file in the eCity eGlerk's eDffice, are hereby referred to, adopted and made a
part hereof as if fully set out in this chapter. (Ord. 02 991, 12 17 2002, off. I 1 2003)
10-5-2: AMENDMENTS TO INTERNATIONAL MECHANICAL CODE:
Section 103.2 shall read as follows:
103.2 Appointment. The code official shall be appointed by the chief appointing
authority of the jurisdiction.

10-5-3: PENALTY:
Any person violating the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a

Section 2. That pursuant to the affirmative vote of one-half (112) plus one (I)
ofthe Members of the full Council, the rule requiring two (2) separate readings by title
