Subject:Horse Meadows Subdivision
Hello,
I am writing in hopes that the city will deny the Horse Meadows subdivision of 27 homes at the corner of Black
Cat and Pine. Though I live further north near Lakeview Golf Club, I drive on Black Cat and the road simply
can't handle the amount of traffic it receives now, let alone the upcoming construction in the area. During rush
hour, traffic frequently backs up from the railroad tracks to Cherry Ln, and the light at Franklin is poorly
timed/sensored. Even on the north side of Cherry, the traffic is steady enough that it is difficult to turn in either
direction. How is Black Cat still mostly a 2 lane road with the significant number of homes and now a large
charter school in the area?! In the 13 years I have lived in my home, the only road improvements have been at
the major intersections of Cherry and Franklin, with no widening in between.
The city cannot keep allowing construction without having the proper infrastructure in place to support a safe
environment for its existing citizens.
Sincerely,
Sheena Boonen
