Mayor and Council members,
Once again we are here on this project and I thank you for your patience and not just wearing thin and giving
in.
I am a resident of Alpine Pointe at 4019 N Brooksburg Place. My property directly borders the project.
The project density of the parcels was being addressed but the Cook parcel was not. Please back off the the
cook parcel to r-4 or r-8. This will keep high density on the south of Jasmine Lane and relieve the burden on
Centerpointe when connected in the future. It also sets a precedent to protect those that have already made
the sizable commitment to live in Alpine. Bringing high density closer to Alpine will be detrimental to property
values, traffic and school population. One council member said it well that this is a good project, just not sure
it is good here. I agree with them and add that the Cook parcel be backed down to r-4 to r-8.
I applaud that the council is now forward looking even more at the effects of each decision working together.
The last meeting wrestled with the thought of connection to Alpine for connectivity or waiting until the main
concourse could be developed which was Centerpointe. Patience has it’s own rewards but is seldom valued.
It would be best to table the project until more of the pieces can be put into play for a better outcome for all
residents.
Thank you for your time and diligence,
Jim Ostyn
