Re: Delano Subdivision AZ, APAM, PP H-2019-0027
I am a resident of Alpine Pointe and writing in regards to the DevCo Development, now known
as Delano Subdivision. I am concerned that the City Council has choose to allow
The Delano Application to once again appear in front of the council, and is being reconsidered
to move the project forward.
I have written several previous letters, along with most of my neighbors, and felt that when our
newly elected Mayor Simison, and Council Members voted to deny the Delano Project, a deep
breath of serenity could be taken.
I then saw a notice that The Delano Subdivision was granted a hearing for Reconsideration.
They did so with what feels to be a legal maneuver which comes across as Big Goliath forcing
Alpine Pointe Residents into submission by threatening the City of Meridian. The colors which
the representative has shown the residents of Alpine Pointe, yelling at meetings, throwing
things at people, now continues with the reconsideration, his deep pockets, and legal notice to
the city.
It would be simple if he would just agree not to use Alpine Pointe to access his project, in any
form, and he agree to develop a smaller project. The Delano Project could become responsible
to the City of Meridian by understanding another large development in the proposed area will
intensify and impact the traffic on one of the most dangerous roads in Idaho. Since his denial, at
the council meeting, another project has been completing its build and the impact not totally
felt or understood at this time.
The project, if connected to Alpine Pointe, via N. Dashwood Pl, would promote high density cut
through traffic. If N. Dashwood and all other residential roads in our neighborhood are closed
and considered a Cul de sac, it would prevent heavy traffic burdens to residents.
Thus, the project needs to be limited if allowed to move forward, during the reconsideration,
and allowed access through his own entry such as Jasmine Lane and/or access the project to
the South by way of North Center Pointe Way.
