Mayor Simison and Council Members,
We have written many letters to the Planning and Zoning Committee and City Council over the course of the
deliberations concerning the Delano Subdivision proposed to be built immediately south of our neighborhood, Alpine
Pointe. We thought of resending those letters but I am trusting that those previously sent letters will be considered just
as strongly as if they were sent more recently. Be assured that we still have the same concerns and objections that we
expressed in those letters sent months ago. Our primary concern as before is the possible connection to our
neighborhood at Dashwood Place. Whether this street was intended as a cul de sac or a through street is beside the
point. It is a fact that the proposed connection would bring an unmanageable amount of traffic to our neighborhood
from the Delano subdivision, the Brickyard and the commercial area north of Ustick. And that would have a
devastating effect on the peace and tranquility of one of the nicest neighborhoods in Meridian. The City Council should
not be bound by some ill conceived or poorly thought out street designation. City Council should be representing the
concerns of the citizens of Meridian including the nearly 600 residents of Alpine Pointe.
